Difference Between: Web Developer & Web...
irockweb: Actually these terms are somehow same in terms of work description. A web developer is a person who develops web application in various ways using different languages such as PHP, ASP, CFM, JSP, and etc.
necrolyte: web programmer = very specific job web developer = tend to have more skills aside from programming like project management, project directing, and knows a bit of design.
voodzzz: Web Developer / Programmer - the, builds server side codes, business logic, database schema. Web Designer - Mag design lang and convert to markup language (HTML) and CSS, & Flash. Web Master - Coder, recodes the website if necessary, maintains website, maintains the server, maintains content management system, redesign some graphic structure if necessary
Jason: for me theyre all the same thing nowadays.... but before it was really specific and each one is so distinct... now, a web designer should know javascript and xml for AJAX, a dev should likewise be very proficient in XHTML standards and CSS, a webmaster will be using photoshop aswell as dreamweaver.... now you should be flexible to land a job no matter what the title says... but i brand myself as a Systems and Web Developer since im basically a Programmer(slash)Designer(slash)Janitor... I also do my own server scripting and maintenance...
